Color Splash with Lilac – Get Well Soon

By Laurel on January 31, 2011

So, tacky I know, but I made myself a get well card!! Nothing like being prepared, ha!  I am having an outpatient surgical procedure tomorrow and am super nervous about it. I need to pray for peace and I would appreciate your prayers as well…. I played along in the Play Date Cafe challenge this week. I am normally not a big fan of purple, which is funny because that was my favorite color growing up. But I have to say, using it on this card really surprised me. Maybe it was because it was the only color on here… I don’t know. But I found the purple to be quite striking. I stamped the Hero Arts Garden Bouquet image with 2 shades of Tim Holtz Distress Inks, dry embossed the background of the card, adhered the label with pop dots and done… Now, the question remains. Should I sign the inside of the card? LOL! Have a great day…..

I’m so sorry, Laurel! You will be in my thoughts and prayers for low nerves, as well as a smooth procedure and quick recovery! I got about a hundred emails this weekend and just remembered, as your post showed up in my Google Reader (So thankful that they’re, finally, deciding to show up.), that you emailed me. I’ll be sure to get right on that.

Your card is beautiful! I love that embossed panel and your pretty, floral, focal point! Thanks so much for playing along with us, this week, in the Cafe!

The embossing folder reminds me of lattice seen in a garden…just perfect with the flowers. Thanks so much for playing with us at the Cafe, and hope you feel better soon!

It is so stunning how you’ve drawn out the textures by inking over the top of the raised portions. So glad you played along at the Cafe again.

Yeah, have to say not a big fan of purple either and I’m even struggling to find some purple in my stamp room to participate in the challenge, but HELLO Laurel, this is AAAAAMAAZZZZZING!
