Color Burst Peony: Pin-Sights Challenge

A beautiful peony bursting with color! That’s what I have to share with you today. I am playing along with the current Pin-Sights Challenge where I have  chosen a gorgeous inspirational photo for you to be inspired by (attached at the end of this post). Aqua! It’s my favorite color! And peonies are gorgeous! In Florida, I never could grow any. But now that I am in Connecticut for a few years, maybe I can!

I began by stamping the gorgeous images from the  Mondo Peony stamp set with Versafine Smokey Gray pigment ink onto some watercolored cardstock, heat set with clear embossing powder and then die cut it with the coordinating Mondo Peony die.  Now its time to add some color! I applied a wash of water to the floral first and then lightly tapped on some of the Turquoise Color Burst – LIGHTLY! I dubbed these color bursts the powder with power, lol! A little is all you need! Allow the water to move around and move the color burst powder around and watch the magic happen. I did the same thing with the leaves using the Lime Green Color Burst.

Let’s talk about the background real quick. I adore the Barnwood Background from Concord & 9th! I stamped the image in Versamark ink and then stamped it onto some watercolored cardstock.  I had some left over turquoise color on my craft mat so I grabbed a paint brush and painted it on. Once the panel was dry, I grabbed  one of my favorite border die cuts and ran it thru my die cutting machine. Then I popped up the peony with some double sided foam tape and added a sentiment.
