Today I am here with an exciting collaboration!!!! I am collabing with THE CATHERINE POOLER! I know, right???? ACK! She is amazing and sweet and I just heart her!! We’ve teamed up today to show off this gorgeous Peony Cling Garden Backgroud stamp from The Ton! If you aren’t familiar with The Ton, they have an amazing line of stamps inspired by couture fashion and modern decor! They just launched in January of this year so I know there are many other things on their horizons and I can’t wait to see it all! For my card today, I decided to incorporate some watercoloring with the iron off embossing technique. That’s the only way any iron gets use in this house, lol! Nope, I don’t iron the clothes but I iron the card! My husband doesn’t find that as funny! Where is his humor I ask you, lol!
I inked up the Peony Background with some Versamark ink and then heat set it with clear embossing powder. I started by using one of the Color Bloom sprays, as you will see in the video, but ended up changing my mind and pulling out my lovely Kuretake Gansai watercolors. These watercolors are fantastic! They are rich and creamy and pigmented and come in 3 different sizes… 12, 24 and 36 (all linked below in case you were interested in checking them out). After the peonies were watercolored, I took to my trusty iron (a cheapie I got off of Amazon) and ironed off the embossing powder to remove that shine.. Now it looks like I hand painted these peonies!
I die cut the background with two of the frames from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die set and adhered them down to the card base, with the center piece popped up with some foam dimension. Lastly, I grabbed some of the Ellen Hutson 43lb vellum and stamped a sentiment from the It’s Cray Cray stamp set by the Ton in Versamark and heat set in gold embossing powder. I adhered the vellum on with multi-matte medium glue because it is a strong adhesive and dries completely CLEAR!
How about I just show you how I made this baby! You can watch over on my youtube channel in HD! Just click HERE!
