Clean and Simple Card Making with Hero Arts and Glitter Chipboard Hearts

By Laurel on January 21, 2012

I’ve said it before, but I love this class. Just love it. Constantly inspired. Amazed by the techniques. A visual learner so loving the videos! Here’s today’s card inspired by the class. Scroll down and check out the other posts I’ve done using techniques/ideas from this class.

I am in LOVE with the Hero Arts newspaper background. I am finding that I have so many ideas on how to use this stamp, it has a permanent fixture on my desk! I’ve used it here and here so far.. I grabbed a bag of wooden hearts from Michaels, painted them with a Jenni Bowlin Paint Dabber, stamped into my Versamark ink pad and applied three different colors of glitter (which I still think I am finding in my hair, lol). I was going to do a grouping of hearts, but instead decided to layer them on top of each other. The background is stamped with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and I sprayed some silver shimmer spritz. I added a strip of washi tape just for some added color.

I hope you like it! I am entering this in the Lily Pads: Virginia’s View Challenge. My pal Virginia has joined the Lily Pads design team and she is hosting her first challenge over there. OOOHHH. Hearts. Check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I am up early at the hotel.. I surprised my son with a trip to Epcot and Magic Kingdom… I hope he has a blast. Wanted to squeeze in some good memories with him before I leave for CHA! Just 7 days people! OH MY GOSH!!!!

Wonderful card! But, I’m confused about how you did the hearts. You mentioned VersaMark ink and I don’t understand how that fits into painting them and then putting glitter on them. Can you explain your technique? I must be having a brain freeze! LOL!!
