Christmas in July? Absolutely! Get a jump start on your Christmas cards and mentally cool down at the same time! In upstate New York, there is a heat wave going on so I took pleasure in thinking of Christmas and cold weather! I pulled out one of my favorites, Mondo Holly and quickly colored it using 3 colors of Nuvo Shimmer Powders! The Shimmer Powders are very easy to use. I wet the cardstock first and then lightly sprinkled on the powder and let the water do the work! Prior to watercoloring, I did ink the image with Wow Embossing ink and then heat set it using Wow Black Magic embossing powder! This embossing powder has flakes of gold in it so it is quite cool!
To create the card base, I used some Gold Foil Cardstock and then thought, hmmmm. I wonder! I grabbed some Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone and smeared some of it onto the foil cardstock just to see what would happen when it dried, and OH LA LA LA LA LA! This girl is in love. I’ll be doing this technique a lot! The results are soooo pretty!
