No Stamping: Bunnies in a basket

There is zero stamping on this card. I simply die cut all the images onto white cardstock and did some simple ink blending and voila!!!! Easy pease! Will you give this a try?

Cut AND embossing at one time?

One embossing folder that cuts AND embosses at one time? Why heck yea! Today I am using two embossing folders from Spellbinders. These embossing folders are amazing not only for the design, but because it cuts part of the design as well as dry embosses them – leaving a stunning result. Let’s take a close up look, shall we?

Using the Lahina Cut and Emboss folder, I create this card in under 2 minutes. No joke. Here are the 4 steps to make this card:

Run sparkly cardstock thru die cutting machine using the “dry emboss” plate sandwich
Adhere black strip to card
Add Glossy Accents to sentiment strip. Once dry, adhere with foam dimension.
Adhere panel to white card base. The cut pieces will be highlighted with the white from the card base.

The second card took a tad bit more time because I did some ink blending. This card uses the Delhi Cut and Emboss Folder.

I ran the embossing folder with white cardstock thru my machine just like I did on the card above.
iInk blend a few colors onto the card panel to really draw attention to the detail of the embossing folder.
Adhere the panel to a navy blue card base. Because the folder cut out parts of the design, the blue card base really showcases the design.

I adore these cut and emboss folders. Such a beautiful impact that requires very little steps to create beautiful cards, don’t you think?

Grunge Florals – Mixed Media – Fun Stampers Journey

Grunge Florals? Why not. I am totally going outside of my comfort zone here using the Fun Stampers Journey February Stamp of the Month Club. Instead of watercoloring flower like I normally do, I thought I would whip out some of my embossing powders and see what I could come up with a different look.

Stamp the floral image from the February Fun Stampers Journey Stamp Club with Embossing Ink and heat set with Metallic Copper Embossing powder.
Add a squirt of Dragon Scales Dream Drops to the center of each flower and blend with your finger. These Dream Drops look gorgeous on dark cardstock and come in a variety of colors.
Add Embossing ink to a rectangle frame and apply 3 colors (Metallic Copper, Aquatini, Black Glint) of embossing powders (add one at a time so your powders don’t mix together, but heat set all at once)
Add a strip of embossing ink (I used the Wow Embossing Pen) and heat set with Black Glint Embossing Powder.
Adhere Rectangle Frame to Card
Stamp Sentiment with Embossing ink and Metallic Copper embossing powder and heat set.

Unconventional Thanksgiving Card

Who said pumpkins have to be orange? No one! That’s right! LOL! I’m using the awesome Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders October Kit today to create this unconventional card! The monthly kits come at a fabulous price!

No orange pumpkins here. No scarecrows…. No green leaves…. Just lots of texture from the stenciled background and the alcohol inked panel I used to die cut the elements… The October’s Die Set is called Fall Flora and contains 16 dies. Now you can create wreaths, borders, frames…… There is a lot you can do and the PDF gives you loads of ideas on how you to use these.

I chose to two backgrounds I had preciously made (I make lots of backgrounds at one time and save them for quick cardmaking)….. The stenciled background was created with a stencil, embossing paste and a black spray. The die cut pieces were cut from a Alcohol Ink panel I created on yupo paper. See all the texture? The assembly of the die cut pieces took just under a minute and this card was done.

I originally filmed this process, but apparently my coffee didn’t kick in. When I was hitting record, I was really hitting stop. So I filmed literally nothing the entire time. But look at the tassle, the handle, the crinkle paper! Adorable.
