*Video: Gelatos Art Canvas inspired by Thrift Store Find

My 17 year old niece if a thrifter. She goes to thrift stores and finds some amazing things. I think she is addicted to thrifting. She showed me these pair of heels she bought and I laughed. For a few reasons. One, they are wild! Like for real. Second, she is a complete klutz so her walking around in heels? HAHAHAH! Cue the ambulance….🤪

BUT!!!!  What I also did see in these crazy heels are Gelatos! Yup!  So I made a canvas inspired by her shoes! Check out the video below to see it come to life.

This and that: Free Gelatos Technique Class

I started a little “this and that’ series on the blog. When I see something that I think you might like, like today’s post regarding a free class all about Gelatos, I’ll post it. It won’t have anything directly to do with me, my teachings or my projects.  So it will be a little of this and a little of that… 🙂

I love the Design Memory Craft gelatos. I discovered them a few years ago, fell in love, did some guest designing for them and created an entire video playlist on my own youtube channel. There are so delicious, and completely calorie free, he he he. Interested? Here is a free class I found for you to check out! Click HERE to check it out.

Gelatos are:

  • Creamy, pigmented sticks that are water soluble, lightfast, and permanent.
  • You can blend with or without water.
  • They are ideal for papers, smooth or textured surfaces, canvas, crafting fabrics and ribbon, journal boards. and wood. Compact acid-free pigment sticks glide on creamy smooth for vibrant color and coverage.
  • They come in little “chapstick” like tubes!

Here is a link to my Gelatos playlist in case you want to check that out as well!

So there you! A little of this and that!

*Video* Macarons and Gelatos

Gelatos and macarons. What a wonderful combination!!! In today’s card/video, I am showing you how easy it is to watercolor with the Faber Castell Gelatos. That’s right! Gelatos can be used as a traditional watercoloring medium.   It is no secret I love my Gelatos. I have been a fan for years! There are so many techniques you can do with them. I have a playlist over on my youtube channel dedicated just to Gelatos. You can find that by clicking HERE…

You can watch the video tutorial for today’s card here on the blog or head over to my youtube channel and watch it in HD by clicking HERE!

How adorable is this Macaron stamp? I love she provided you a multitude of macarons on a beautiful serving tray. No multiple stamping or masking required! 🙂 I confessed in the video that I have never eaten a macaron before. Ever. I know, right? I have no idea what they taste like! 🙂 But I know they are pretty! HAHAHAHA! 🙂

I also stamped the images using the Faber Castell Big Brush Pen. Have you heard of them? I have them in array of colors and rarely reach for them and I don’t know why. I colored the pen directly onto the stamp and then stamped. Easy peasy! I think I’ll be reaching for these more!

VIDEOS BY MY KIDS:  My daughter is now a huge fan of Gelatos. Did you see the little video she made using them? If not, click HERE.  It’s funny because when my son was 5, he made a video using the Gelatos too. I never published the video because it was filmed poorly in a house we lived in many years ago and there is mess everywhere, but I can’t resist sharing with you now here on the blog… You can watch my son (who is now 11) play with Gelatos for the first time by clicking HERE.

Thanks for popping by today!! 🙂
