Bushel of thanks

This card I just adore. It’s different! It started with a plain piece of vellum and alcohol ink… I just dropped some onto the vellum, dropped some regular isopropyl alcohol on top and let the alcohol ink do its magic…. Once it was dry, I flipped it over and began working on the front side. I did a little stamping direct to the vellum and also did some stamping and die cutting so I could layer the pumpkins and leaves and apples! So much cuteness here.

The leaves were such a pleasant surprise. I didn’t know until I stamped them, but they have designs on them! So stinkin’ cute! To get the look of texture on the oak tree, I inked the tree with Icing on the Cake Ink and then sprinkled on some clear embossing powder. Before heat setting, I brushed a little of it away and thus the texture was born!

Do let me know if you have any questions about this card or how I made it….. Or if you would like to see me re-create it on my youtube channel!!!!!

Colorful Pumpkins rock my world

Colorful pumpkins are rockin’ my world right now! Today I thought I would focus on a few of the smaller images from one of my favorite “fall” stamp sets! Small images can really make a big impact! Add in some gorgeous colorful ink and you’ve got yourself a WOOT WOOT moment! I mean, how can this not make you smile? Even if pumpkins aren’t your thang (Get ready because I’m here to tell you I do NOT like Pumpkin Spice lattes – ahhhhh)….. these pumpkins are……

And the big ole’ oak tree

Oh, how I loved sitting under the big ole’ oak tree in my yard growing up! My brother and I built a fort and put little buttons on it and pretended it was a space ship. Fun times. I adore this new large cling Oak Tree stamp from Catherine Pooler. It’s large enough to cover a standard size card front and it has detailed wood grain etched in the rubber!

I thought the tree alone was a fantastic show stopper for the card….. Just some simple ink blending in the background an AWESOME sentiment.

In addition to the Oak tree, there is an amazing new stamp set that has “accessories” for the tree! Like a tire swing, leaves, tulips, bows….. Meet the 4-ever stamp set (also has coordinating dies).  On this card, I stamped all the images with Catherine Pooler ink, spritzed the panel with A LITTLE bit of water and let it dry….. I cut down a piece of vellum and adhered it to the panel with itty bitty dots of glue.

I flicked on some white paint for two reasons.

1.  It’s cool

2. It covers up the glue that you might see. (HA HA)

And last, a rainbow Oak tree. Come on… You knew I had to do it! And how cute are those hanging lights! Seriously…..

Now there are a ton of new products in this release…. From cakes to critters…….. I’ve linked to the entire release below in the product list….. Today, I am just using products from the Under the Oak Tree bundle….

So, what do you think? Do you have a favorite image from this bundle? From this whole release? Let me know in the comments!!!!!

Wake up!

I have always wanted window boxes on my home. Whenever I get to my forever home, rest assured I will have cute shutters and window boxes! Until then, window boxes on cards will have to do. When I saw the new stamps and dies from the latest Catherine Pooler release, I swooned! I have lots to share this week…. I had to immediately tear open the Outside your Window Stamp Set (two adorable shutters and a coordinating die that cuts AND scores) and Boxes of Blooms (window boxes, florals and coordinating dies)… I chose to create a card with the shutters closed. But wait. Check back with me this week here on the blog for another project with a different way to use the shutters or head to Catherine’s blog and see these shutters wide open on some other designers projects….

The sentiment called to me. Especially during these weird times…… And do you see that background there? I stamped with the brand new Flower Burst cover die. (I have a video coming soon all about this technique).

I used the same cover die and sprayed thru it to create that misted background (more on this technique in an upcoming video). Instead of using the window box image, I decided to make a bouquet of flowers by stamping and then hand drawing in a leaf and stem.  And clear stamps are so versatile! I just arched it on my acrylic block and stamped it.

And last, a rainbow to brighten your day. Well, rainbow colors. I die cut the cover plate die onto some cardstock and used it as a stencil. Used a ton of ink from the Party Collection ink line.

And this card was a ghost print. Meaning I took the home made stencil I was using, spritzed it with water and pressed it onto some cardstock and got this print. A twofer! (A two for one)……. Oh, and a brand new sentiment set is out! All single line sentiments just for me! Yes!

And don’t forget about the FREEBIE! Just click HERE, pop it into your cart and check out for $0 bucks!

That’s all for today!!!!! See you again here real soon!
