Alcohol Ink Coasters

I wanted to try something a little different so I decided to blend my love for alcohol inks with my new interest, resin. The result is actually quite surprising. I even used some fake lavender to create something really pretty! Check out the video to see how I did it!

A quick looksie at the projects made.

Bushel of thanks

This card I just adore. It’s different! It started with a plain piece of vellum and alcohol ink… I just dropped some onto the vellum, dropped some regular isopropyl alcohol on top and let the alcohol ink do its magic…. Once it was dry, I flipped it over and began working on the front side. I did a little stamping direct to the vellum and also did some stamping and die cutting so I could layer the pumpkins and leaves and apples! So much cuteness here.

The leaves were such a pleasant surprise. I didn’t know until I stamped them, but they have designs on them! So stinkin’ cute! To get the look of texture on the oak tree, I inked the tree with Icing on the Cake Ink and then sprinkled on some clear embossing powder. Before heat setting, I brushed a little of it away and thus the texture was born!

Do let me know if you have any questions about this card or how I made it….. Or if you would like to see me re-create it on my youtube channel!!!!!

Tuesday Morning Coffee (cards)

During these strange times, I thought some coffee cards were in check. If you aren’t a coffee drinker, no worries. Pretend this is water, tea, hot chocolate, etc…… LOL! Let’s start with a rainbow background first to brighten your day! This is an alcohol inked background I made in the past. I tend to make loads of backgrounds at one time and keep them on hand for building cards! To see multiple videos I’ve created regarding alcohol ink techniques and backgrounds, click HERE!

A little tinted nuvo glitter accents (I just colored the dried glitter with a black marker) for the “pour” of the coffee really made this card look life like.

This was another background I had laying around so just adding a few elements from the coffee sets I used (linked below) made pulling this card together in a jiffy!

And this sentiment (in Laurel world) is very true!

And finally, another background I had on hand made with embossing paste and a stencil (ions ago I tell you). I just spritzed it with some Nuvo Sparkle Spray for a little more somethin’ something;

A hug in a mug! YES!

This last one I just turned a floral die cut I had colored previously upside down and popped up a coffee mug, tee hee!
