CardPatterns Sketch 27

By Laurel on August 13, 2009

Greetings! I participated in the CardPatterns Sketch Challenge this week… And after the day I have had today, I needed a distraction! Lt me just say that there is no such thing as the terrible two’s. I believe it starts at 3…  On with the the challenge. Here is the sketch:

First of all, don’t you just LOVE that paper? Those cute little birds! I actually won this paper from one of the blogs that I follow! Stephanie is incredibly talented and generous. She does giveaways all the time.   I participate in a lot of contests and have never won anything until now! And this one didn’t require any action from me other than just leaving a comment. I love it!!

I kept this card very simple because I didn’t want to take away too much attention from that adorable paper. I used my cuttlebug to make the flower cuts (the brown one is dry embossed, although I don’t think you can really tell from the photograph) and embroidery floss for my ribbon. Pretty clean and simple…. What do you think?

Supplies:

Ink: Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy
Stamp: Papertrey Ink My Punny Valentine
Other: Cuttlebug, Slider die, swiss dots and divine swirl embossing folders, Papertrey Ink Vintage Button, embroidery floss, corner rounder

Great card Laurel! That patterned paper is so cute! And I do believe in the terrible twos (because I have a two year old), but 3 was much worse with my oldest. Then again, DH was deployed for the entire year so that had a lot to do with it. I hope today is better. 🙂

What a cute card! Love the simple lines and the string you wrapped around repeatedly. Great touch!

Just gorgeous Laurel – love that paper against the Kraft, it’s so effective!!
I’m so glad you’ve managed to get some use out of the papers 🙂
I have a terrible two & a terrible three – my life is just one big uphill struggle LOL I do love them to bits but sometimes wonder if it would be easier for me to go back to work haha
    Hugs
