Candy Corn Rocks – Simon Says Exclusive

By Laurel on September 21, 2011

Did you know that Simon Says Stamp makes their own exclusive line of stamps? Yup, they sure do and I am lucky enough to own Haunting Halloween.… I won it from them for their September RAK.  Another reason, like you need any more, to love them. THEY are rewarding their customers during the month of September by randomly selecting customer names and mine was chosen. Hello. Amazing. Love them…… The set is compiled of a LOT of cute images. I chose to work with the candy corns and the jack-o-lantern… My son has a thing for candy corns! He loves Halloween not because of the trick or treating, but because he knows the stores have candy corn….. And ironically enough, last night I won a candy corn wreath for my front door! (I’ll snap a proper picture it soon)……. The quality of this set is superb! I encourage you all to check out their exclusive line…  Be sure to check out the supply list at the bottom of this post. Just click on the image and you will be taken directly to the item….

I was inspired by the Lily Pads Sketch Challenge sponsored by the amazing Hero Arts. I used a lot of Tim Holtz Distress inks on this card and did the water flicking technique on the strips. The candy corn were heat embossed.. And the jack-o-lantern was colored with copics. Now I didn’t use Neenah cardstock for that cut out and I do regret it because I was not able to blend very well…. Tip: Make sure to use the proper card stock when using copics…. The one I used here is from Papertrey Ink. Good, thick card stock but NOT good for copic coloring….. I recommend Neenah Solar White card stock for all your crafting needs. I just had one package of PTI card stock left I was trying to use up.  I’ll save it for when I am not coloring. Thanks for stopping by!
