Die Cutting Heat Embossing Techniques Videos

Candy Box with coordinating card with video

Hi there! It’s Monday, which means its Lawnscaping Challenge time!!!! Our challenge to you is encouragement. Thinking of you, hope, love you…. Whatever is encouragement to you is what we want to see! I decided to create a candy box and coordinating card for my son. The candy box was so easy with this candy box die! Just run it thru your die cutting machine twice, adhere the two pieces together and voila, you’ve got your candy box. Fill it with treats and you will be a hit!

To create the coordinating card, I used a pre-colored image… I color lots of images at one time, cut them out and keep them on a bowl on my desk. It makes pulling together cards really quick. I love this critter in particular. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, as is my son, and this little guy is Buckbeak, lol! The sentiment on the card is from THIS stamp set. I heat embossed the sentiment on both projects using Unicorn White pigment ink and then heat set it with some clear embossing powder! When you use pigment ink, it stays wet longer so you can sprinkle on some embossing powder and heat set it! 🙂

Be sure to head on over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog and check out all the other projects and play along! The amazingly sweet and awesome Ellen Hutson is sponsoring this challenge! I can’t say enough good things about Ellen Hutson! They are amazing!

Before I go, I wanted to share a kindness campaign/challenge with you all! You can click HERE for all the details on the campaign. Kindness…. It really can just turn someone’s day around. A simple act, a simple kind word, a hug…. To be kind you don’t have to be over the top. Simple acts of kindness is what I personally appreciate the most! Jennifer Mcguire has launched a Share Handmade Kindness challenge and each week will be a different theme. This week is all about friends/family (click HERE to be taken directly to the post to read all about it and enter)! A handmade treat box and coodinating card for my son fits the bill here. Now to enter, it doesn’t have to be handmade so be sure to check out the site and get the details. I’ve got a few other ideas for this, which will include giveaways! Why? Because giveaways are definitely acts of kindness, don’t you think? Stay tuned for that. Oh, I created a “winners page” up at the top of my blog. I plan to do a lot more giveaways so I figured I needed to stay organized, lol!
