Butterfly Shaker Card

Today, I created a butterfly shaker card using the new Butterfly Card die and Butterfly Beauty stamp set from Concord & 9th for my guest post over at the Foiled Fox blog.  I adore those folks and am so glad they allow me to guest with them.  The GORGEOUS Butterfly Card die from Concord & 9th is a show stopper and really all you need to make a gorgeous shaker card! I simply lined up the butterfly dies onto my card panel (each wing is its own die) and then ran it thru my die cutting machine.  The sentiment is from the  Beautiful Butterfly stamp set.

I cut a piece of the packaging the stamp set came in and glued it on the backside of the panel so I could secure my bits. See? RECYCLE that garbage, lol!!!!  Truthfully, I probably grabbed this plastic packaging right out of the garbage!!! Shhh.   In order to create a shaker, you have to raise up the panel just a bit so the sequins or whatever bits you put inside can move around. The Scotch double sided tape is perfect for this. I adhered it on the backside right along the edges of the butterfly and then poured in a lot of bits I had in my stash. Any sequins from The Foiled Fox shop would be perfect for filling this shaker.

I adhered the shaker panel to a panel I watercolored with Evergreen Bough distress stain because I really felt the butterfly needed some depth and color 🙂 I was planning on sending this card to my mom, but my daughter got hold of it and loved how it all shook around so sorry Mom!

A big thanks to the folks at The Foiled Fox for letting me hang out with them again!

Hi Laurel ~ Beautiful butterfly shaker and I love the Evergreen Bough background. Just perfect. I’m not surprised your adorable little princess helped herself to this one…little girls always seem to love butterflies. Mine always did. Stay warm! (We’ve got 20″ of new snow already!!!) ~HUGS~
