Biking anyone?

By Laurel on August 11, 2010

Can I just say that I am in LOVE with Courtney’s newest set, The Whole Cycle! It has endless possibilities…… I knew that I wanted to participate in the Etsy Inspired Challenge again and the 2S4Y challenge this week, so this set came just at the perfect time. I was inspired by this photo:

During the sneak peaks for this set, I saw this post by Karen, one of the Practicing Creativity Design Team members. She took a couple of the stamps and made the most fantastic background! I just had to give it a try! I took the wheel and the spokes and made the background using brown and ripe avocado ink! I just LOVE how it turned out!

I then lightly sponged over the top with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, giving it a more aged look. I stamped the bike image in dark brown ink and colored it with COPICS to match Ripe Avocado on the spokes and the cute little basket! The basket was made from Practicing Creativity’s fabric tape. I just stamped the image onto the tape and cut it out. I took one of the  sentiments that came with the stamp and only inked the word “enjoy” and stamped it in the top left corner.I lightly sponged Ripe Avocado Ink over the die cut and adhered it with foam squares.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Stamps: Practicing Creativity; Ink: Papertrey Ink, Tim Holtz Distress Inks; Copic markers; Foam Squares; Spellbinders Nestabilities; Practicing Creativity Fabric Tape

Ahh, love this! Love your color scheme and the scene. Love the background. Love that I can INSPIRE someone, it is the highest compliment EVER! I have those nestie labels too so thank you for showcasing that the bike can fit into it so perfectly.

Oh, I just added your blog to my feeds, so please keep the cards coming, I’d love to see what more you have in store with The Whole Cycle, as I had a lot of fun with it too.
