Beyond Basic Backgrounds? You got that right! This class was an eye opener….. I made quite a few cards while taking this class, but I chose to blog the one that was the most unusual for me… The red? It’s all foiled!!!!! That means sparkly and textury! Is that a word? I guess not…. And I foiled using my heat gun.
The Spring Shower cover die is fabulous! I ran it thru my die cutting machine and used the panel as a stencil. I lined the panel over my card base, pressed a ton of the Embossing Ink thru the paper, then sprinkled on Wow Bonding powder and heat set. The bonding powder helps the foil stick.
In the next photo, you can really see the shine and texture from the foil. Because this is bonding powder, you will have to re-heat in small areas, press the foil onto the area quickly (pretty side facing you) and then continue on throughout the entire panel until your background is fully foiled. It’s not a perfectly foiled background, but I like the texture it leaves behind. Very organic. And different from traditional foiling. I finished off the panel with a sentiment using this die.
Totally fabulous, eeh???? :):)

very pretty foiling!
Great technique! Thank you for sharing. I wonder if Ranger sticky embossing powder would work as well?
Love love the shine! Way to rock the foiling! Thanks so much for entering your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery. Beautiful colors and design. Well done!
