Advent Calendar Extravaganza with Taheerah Atchia

By Laurel on December 1, 2017November 26, 2017

HI THERE!!!!!!!!  Advent Calendar Extravaganza is -the- festive event of the season! This ‘hop with a twist’ was dreamed up by Taheerah Atchia and features surprise destinations each day! Joining in the fun with Taheerah are ONE HUNDRED special guests – each serving up some fantastic Christmas inspiration! Just like an Advent Calendar, you’ll never know where you’re going to be visiting next until you ‘open the door’!

And that’s not all! With 25 *amazing* sponsors taking part as guests as well, your crafty wish list is bound to get a boost with a chance to win a prize EVERY SINGLE DAY!!

Join in the fun every day at taheerah-atchia.com to see what special surprises await behind the door!

Today I’ve created a clean and simple Christmas card that is easy to mass produce. All the items I used can be found at the Catherine Pooler store AND are linked at the end of this post. To create the tree, I masked off a triangle (I cut masking paper with scissors) and applied the negative space to my card panel. Then I stamped various images from the Holiday Mittens and Candy Cane Lane stamp sets, removed the mask and my Christmas tree was born.

I added a bow to the top of the tree using the coordinating die, stamped the mittens onto some vellum and used the coordinating die to cute it out and adhered it to my card base. To see the trick to adhering vellum without the glue showing, click HERE. I added a strip of Peppermint to the bottom of the card panel to ground the tree – not really- my tree wasn’t perfectly lined up – ha ha ha ha ha. All the inks I used are Catherine Pooler inks and the exact colors I used are linked below.

PRIZES:

It’s not a party without a prize – and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today’s prize is generously supplied by Catherine Pooler. so you’ll definitely want to win! Simply leave a comment on this post – then head back to taheerah-atchia.com and leave a comment there too! You must leave a comment on Taheerah’s blog as well as mine in order to be eligible to win! Don’t forget to grab the other surprise destinations from Taheerah’s blog and head over to them to leave comments there as well to improve your odds even more! You have until 23:59 EST on 31st December 2017 to enter.

The Advent Calendar Extravaganza runs from 1st-25th December inclusive so make sure you visit taheerah-atchia.com every day for fabulous inspiration and amazing prizes every single time! Merry Christmas!

I love, love, love your tree and your mittens! It’s just way to cute! I had never heard of Catherine Pooler before and when I went to explore her site I’ve found I might have to make a purchase because I loved so many things. That what Christmas is for, right? I love those snowflakes on your tree. I have a stamp that says Snowflakes are winters butterflies and it would so go with your snowflakes. I love all the colors you used and will check out how you did the velum without the glue showing. That’s what I hate about velum. Whatever you use to adhere it shows up. Otherwise, I love velum!
Thanks for showing us your card and I can’t wait to see how you got the glue not to show. Off to the rest of the Advent Calendar!
