Seriously! When I saw the Silver Linings die set from Ellen Hutson, my mind went polar opposite of where everyone elses went! It’ a great set. Sunrays. Rain drops… Great scenes can be created with these images. Here is a close up of the set.
BUT not me. I saw the lightening bolt and thought HARRY POTTER! I know! I’m a geek! So, the lightening bolt became Harry’s scar – and why not pair one favorite with another? COFFEE!!!!!!! Enter the Oh Frappe stamp set and coordinating dies…. The sentiment was spelled out using the Basic Alpha die set!
I had to keep the colors of the card Gryffindor colors – which of course is Aged Mahogany and Mustard Seed distress inks with a splash of squeezed lemonade, lol! I blending all those inks onto a piece of Ranger Watercolored cardstock that I die cut with the Inside and Out Diagonal Stitched die cut from My Favorite Things.
After die cutting the lightening bolt, I smooshed my Versamark ink pad over the die cut and sprinkled on clear embossing powder and heat set it! That’s how the got the sparkle! The coffee cup has a thick coating of glitter from the Spectrum Noir Glitter pen….. And the sentiment was also heat embossed! And the stripes??? Enter Impression Obsession Thin Stripes please.
Oh Harry Potter! I see a marathon in my future! Chips and Dip, maybe a little Nutella and Strawberries and lots of Harry!
Move update: The entire house is unpacked and put together with the exception of the garage. Lots of boxes still stand – but that is my husband’s fault! A woman has no place in a hot stuffy garage! My mom left last week and I have cried oceans of tears longing for my parents. I don’t know if that emptiness will ever go away. But I have been trying to stay busy 24/7 but I can stay with 100% certainty I have not gotten a full night’s sleep since I moved here. It is pretty! The house is perfect! But I miss my family.
Alrighty! Thanks for popping in today!! I hope you love my little Harry Potter Coffee card as much as I do! LOL.
Great card and awesome coloring for the background.
I love it!!!
Great card Laurel.I love it.
I like how you combined stamp sets. This is a fun card.
Great card, wonderful composition and textures!
Hi Laurel ~ I fell deeply in love with this set of dies the moment I saw them. Unfortunately I got sidetracked and then they were sold out! GRRRRR!! I’m on the wait list for those. Love your card and always love seeing my favorite inks used….Distress Inks are just so yummy. Sorry about the tears. I’ve been there, done that and then did it again when my oldest went off to college 5 hours away. It takes time to adjust, I won’t lie, but it will get a little bit easier with time. Promise. So glad your Mom was able to stay and help get the house in order (thrilled that it’s “perfect” for you all) and that you were able to spend some fun quality time together. Treasure those moments until you’re together again and I have no doubt the kids will keep you busy. ~HUGS~
