Hi there! Today I am part of a video celebration VIDEO HOP! Lots of designers have gotten together to celebrate our friend Christy Reuling’s 10,000 youtube subscribers achievement! Congratulations Christy!!!! That’s awesome!
The entire video hop order is at the end of my post along with information about the GIVEAWAYS!!! YES! GIVEAWAYS!
I was somewhat of a rule breaker here – not intentionally of course. The theme of the video hop is CELEBRATION! And I made Get Well Cards… Uhhhh! So let’s celebrate that by the time the recipient receives the card, they will be well! LOL – Let’s chalk it up to the fact I am still adjusting to our new home/state and I have been sick – yea – let’s go with that….. The two cards have quite a few techniques: Watercoloring, Masking, Die Cutting, Heat Embossing, Stenciling….
You can watch my video right here on the blog or over on my youtube channel in HD by clicking HERE!
How adorable is this stamp set from Clearly Besotted??!?? It’s called Under the Weather and the critters are so adorably cute, even tho they are sick! Poor little guys! I made two cards with the set! The layout of the critters are the same with the help of some masking paper and the Mini Misti. I mounted the bear first and stamped him, then applied the mask, mounted the other two critters and then stamped (all showcased in the video). Oh, these images were stamped on a die cut panel of Bristol paper using the Inside & Out Diagonal Stax die from MFT. From here on out, I added some color differently to create two different cards with the same layout.
Let’s take a look at the first!
These little cuties were colored with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers onto Bristol paper (I highly recommend this paper when using these markers). I first heat embossed the stamped images with Smokey Grey pigment ink and then heat set it with clear embossing powder. Then I watercolored the images in with the Zigs!
For my second card, I added the masks over all of the images and then lightly blended some Cracked Pistachio distress ink thru a striped stencil! I then peeled up the mask and I love the little white images with the soft green striped background.
I like the addition of the heat embossed outlines too!

Your animals are so cute! Unfortunately i couldn’t watch your video from Germany cause of some music lisence agreements…but I managed to watch some of your other videos which are so helpful. You got a new subscriber!
Nice and simple cards. Thanks for sharing.
Yay to Christy Reuling! I’ve followed her YouTube videos for a long time, she makes lovely cards.
Laurel, I love it that you made a clean and simple Get Well card. I make a lot of cards for people I don’t know and I pretended your card was just for me as I recently had surgery. Your cards are delightful. Thanks.
So stinkin’ cute!!!
