Hello there! A little bit of a different post today, and font!!!! Isn’t this font gorgeous? I am temporarily using it for today’s post. It is designed by my friend, Julie Mogford. She is a brilliant graphic artist. She actually designed my blog logos, graphics and badges. (And if you aren’t aware, she is the former co-owner/illustrator of Winnie and Walter).
Julie has offered up a giveaway and discount to all of my readers! I am a sucker for fonts when emailing, creating documents, creating signatures, etc. And this one is just gorgeous. It is exactly what I wish my handwriting was like! LOL. Sadly, my handwriting is awful.
To be eligible to win, simply leave a comment on this post! I’ll choose TWO commenters to win (I will notify the winners via email) and the font package will be emailed to you. Let’s leave this giveaway open for a few weeks, shall we?
Also, be sure to head over to Julie’s website! She has a free Autumn printable for you as well as some other digital items you might be interested in. She has an exclusive one time use discount code available to you for 20% off anything in her store. Simply enter “LAURELROCKS” at checkout.
This hop is epic with more than 60 guests and over $600 in sponsored prizes! Not only are we celebrating four years since Rubeena first discovered cardmaking, but also crafting in general. This industry is made up of wonderful individuals who are creative, inspirational, kind, and incredibly supportive! Hop along so you can learn about why we create and how much joy it brings us! For details on day one of the hop, you can visit this post.
I discovered crafting after my son was born. My first project was a hideous altered clipboard (that I thought was amaze balls at the time), lol! Crafting is my zen, and my savior because it gives me something to do!!
I’ve got three cards to share with you today showing you three different ways to the Concord and 9th’s Banner & Blooms stamp set and the Ribbon Banner die. All three cards have the same layout, have black heat embossed images and are watercolored using Gansai watercolors.
The first card is one layer. Everything is stamped, heat embossed and watercolored with no dimension added.
The second one has a bit of dimension from the ribbon die. I cut the die cut into two pieces and layered it onto the card panel. The “happy” panel is flat and the “everything” panel is popped up.
And lastly, the banner die cut and popped up as one piece (how it is intended to be used). I double stamped the top floral cluster off set just a tad to give it a shadow effect. Not sure I like it but I’m rolling with it! A little shimmer on the banner strip too using a glitter pen.
Winners will be randomly selected from comments left on all the blogs. The winners will be announced by Wednesday, September 5 on this page.
A bright, colorful pop up city card is what I have for you today! I am so pleased to be back with the folks at The Foiled Fox today and sharing this fun, bold, colorful POP UP City card…. Who wouldn’t want to live in one of these buildings?? See the photo below to see how the panels pop up? Creates fun dimension with not a lot of bulk, which means – NO extra shopping cost.
The Concord & 9th City Stacks stamp set and coordinating die made putting this card together a breeze. I started by stamping the images onto watercolored cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then I watercolored the images with the Gansai watercolors. Very messy watercoloring – a great opportunity to have your kids craft with you!
I assembled the panels together in pop up style and adhered the scene to a piece of black/white striped background from this paper set. There are many sentiment builders in this set, but I chose to keep it blank for now so I can customize the sentiment for the occasion. When the time comes, I’ll stamp it right there below the teal buildings!
Fun right?????? Thanks so much to the folks at The Foiled Fox for letting me hang out with you all today!!!!!
Today’s card is all about using your die cut images as the focal point of your card. This card uses just a few supplies! I just completed the Altenew Let It Shine online class and was inspired by ways to make your cards shine. I chose to use the Metallic Shimmer Spray to add shine.
I die cut triangles from the Shattered Triangle Die Set (black cardstock and cardstock I sprayed with the Dusk Shimmer Spray), and adhered them directly to a card panel I sprayed with the Dusk Shimmer Spray. I adhered a thank you sentiment from the Label Love stamp set and voila!
I have completed the Level 2 certification and I am on my way to level 3!!! 🙂
