*Video: No Heat Foiling – How to Get Beautiful Foil Effects without heat!

Ever wondered how to get beautiful foiling effects without the use of heat? That’s right! No laminator. No special foiling machine!!!!  I have a video sharing MANY ways to foil without heat!  You can watch the video by clicking HERE! Be sure to subscribe and click on that notification bell if you haven’t already!

Here are some still shots of the projects. Let’s take a look at the first project where I used an Adhesive Pen to foil in this card.

The organic feel of the strokes, the coordinating foiled sentiment from the Altenew Super Scripts Stamp set and coordinating die? I just adore this. This is probably my favorite of the bunch. One more close up:

For the next project, I used a 2 way glue pen to add the foiled horizontal stripes. There are many glue pens on the market that will work for this. Any glue that dries tacky (sticky) will work!

I like the hand drawn look of the foiled stripes, don’t you? The Altenew Watercolor Frames stamp set is a great, versatile stamp set!  I love the watercolored images (inspired from real paint pieces) that make a great focal point on the card.

My next cards features some Sticky Tape/Double Sided tape to create a foiled flower. I  called this technique “Sticky Tape Die CUtting” lol.

The Sticky Tape, the Rainbow Foil and the Altenew Frosted Garden die is all I needed to create this colorful beauty.

For my last project, I did some double foiling using a flat tip glue pen from Nuvo. Using the flat tip allowed me to get a nice straight line with one stroke. I also used several different color of foils.

I love the look of double foiling. A great way use up those small scraps or negative pieces left over from other projects. And of course, the Frosted Garden stamp set to the rescue to complete this card. Oh! I added a few foiled dots to the center of the florals too! 🙂

I had so much fun making all of these cards! I was inspired from the Altenew Academy Let It Shine: Holiday Edition course!  All 6 lessons were so inspiring. I’m making my way thru the final level of becoming an Altenew Certified Educator and am pleased to say I am just a few projects away! 🙂

Different ways to use Deco Foil Clear Designer Toner Sheets

I love the look of foiling! It really steps up the look of any card! Thermoweb has a Clear Designer Toner Sheet line that is so much fun but some people may not know what you can do with it because it’s printed on a clear sheet! I’ve got four cards today showing you different ways to use the clear sheets. Below each photo, I will explain the various techniques.

For the card above, I used the “non toner side” – meaning – I didn’t foil. I just cut down the Wilderness Clear Toner Sheet to 4.25×5.5. I used Copics to color the back side (in the case, the side I would have foiled) and then adhered the panel Copic colored side down to a white card base using the Thermoweb XL Glue Runner (I used this adhesive for all the cards today).

This card features standard foiling using the Wild Cherry Foil on the Endless Leaves Clear Designer Sheet.

This card uses the Lapis DecoFoil, which is a gorgeous blue/white/gold mix. I did some simple ink blending on a card panel and adhered the foiled piece right over the top!

Last, I foiled using the Rose Gold Deco Foil and simply colored the inside of the leaves (on the NON FOILED SIDE) with a Black Copic (sharpie would work too)… It leaves the clear design showing thru and the leaves colored in…..

Last year, Justine Hovey and myself did a Foiling Series Collaboration and I have linked the entire playlist below for you….. I show LOADS of different and innovative ways to foil so be sure to check it out by clicking HERE! And be sure to click on that notification bell to be alerted every time I post.

Two Toned Foiling Technique: Foiling Video Collaboration 5 day Series with Justine Hovey

Please note I mispoke in my previous video! Parchment paper is the transfer folder, NOT WAX PAPER

Welcome to Day 5 and the LAST DAY of the Five Days of Foiling video series with myself and the fabulous Justine Hovey!  Today’s video shares a fun technique I discovered by using left over foil bits or the negative space and toner paper. I call it two toned foiling. I also show how you can achieve a similar look with predesigned foil.  We are using products from Thermoweb and Gina K.   All supplies we used are always linked at the end of our blogs posts AND over in our youtube video description. Here is a look at the projects from today’s video.

This series was a HUGE labor of love, so we certainly hope you have enjoyed it as we come to a close.  You can watch today’s video by clicking HERE. I adore being able to use leftover foil bits or the negative space to create my own custom foiling… Here I did the two toned technique with Rainbow Deco Foil, Purple Deco Foil and Toner Sheets. I stock up on the Toner Sheets because it gives me the ability to foil everything, lol! I use a lot of my die cuts with the Toner Sheets to create my own custom foiled images and sentiments.

If putting forth the effort for two toning isn’t your thing, no problem. There are some watercolor foil designs that can give you a similar look (FIVE designs in total and linked below for you).

I love the Clear Designer Toner sheets. So many designs to choose from. Many folks love making shakers with these! I have a love/hate relationship with shakers so I wanted to show you all regular cards using these Clear sheets. Adding color to the BACKSIDE is really a great way to quickly fill in the design and really pack a punch and elevate your design.

This is the card I made in the video:

Branching Out Clear Designer Toner Sheet, Spring Green Deco Foil, Altenew Alcohol Markers

Floral Sketch Clear Designer Toner Sheet, Amethyst Watercolor DecoFoil

Splatter Clear Designer Toner Sheet, Rainbow Foil
